The name for mugwort as gaeilge is Mongach Meisce. Mongach in the irish language means ‘maned’ or ‘long haired’ as well as ‘bushy’. ‘Meisce’ means ‘drunk’ or ‘intoxicated’.

This teacher of the lunar power, this wild woman of the wayside with her greenwhite hair shimmering luminous, dancing curving into cat cradle crescents and back to whale baleen bends, she is magnetic and tidal, sensual and unrepentent in her luminous lunacy of life and love.
Artemesia, great guide of growing to our light and letting it all flow, thank you for giving us a sanctuary for wild things to grow.
